The Mom Project

At The Mom Project, we’re committed to helping women remain active in the workforce in every stage of their journey, and we’re proud to work with employers who are committed to designing and supporting a better workplace.

We create economic opportunities for mom

Serena Williams is on our team as strategic advisor.

We’re working together toward a future where women don’t have to choose between their families and successful careers.

Our momentum with Serena coupled with escalating commitment from companies across the United States will fundamentally impact the future of work.
“I’m calling on CEOs, Heads of People, and Business Leaders big and small. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a team of 1 or 100,000; if you’re hiring, are you considering hiring moms? Together, we can influence how work gets done and build a better workplace for the future.”

The Momifesto

At The Mom Project, we believe in the power of mom.

Diverse. Talented. Committed. Moms are a force–a workforce. And their moment is now.

We're creating a future of work that works for everyone. Where mom's potential is realized.

Smart companies know the truth: That moms take care of business and beyond.
That no two careers look the same. That parenting skills sharpen business skills.

We champion this change. We celebrate this mindset. Because we know that when
mom thrives, families thrive, business thrives, society thrives…

And things change. For the better.

Origin story

An estimated 43% of highly skilled women leave the workforce after becoming mothers. This is the jarring statistic I read while on maternity leave from Procter & Gamble with my first child. I started to imagine a future where women would not have to choose between parenthood and their careers, and could not stop thinking about what a real solution might look like. Inspired by the birth of my first son and on behalf of moms everywhere, I founded The Mom Project in 2016.

More than one million American women will become parents this year, joining the ranks of the working parenthood — a vital segment of the workforce. Simultaneously, businesses are challenged to retain talented employees as they navigate through this period of life, and struggle to find the experienced talent they need to grow. The Mom Project bridges the gap, creating opportunities for companies and professionals to grow and thrive.

Women staying engaged in the workforce on their terms is good for families. It’s good for business. It’s good for all of us.

With over 1.5 million talented professionals in our network and over 20,000 companies signed up to hire moms to drive their businesses forward…we’re just getting started.

Will you be part of our story to build a better workplace? I sincerely hope so.
